Why PADI Open Water?
As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. This certification does not expire, and it is good the rest of your life!
What will i do?
Throughout the course, you will learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. Learning to dive is
not difficult, it requires some time and effort. While taking the PADI OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE, you’ll enjoy three phases: Knowledge Development, Confined Open Water Dives, and Open Water Dives.
How long will it take?
Your Groupon adventure begins with our PADI OPEN WATER DIVER certification course. This 2 week course consists of 2 classroom sessions and 2 pool sessions. Classroom sessions are held at the store on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Pool sessions are held in our pool on Saturdays or Sundays from 4:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. At the end of this course you will be ready to perform the 4 open water dives required for certification. We’ll make our open water dives at Haigh Dive Quarry in Kankakee, starting in May, the quarry is located about an hour from downtown. Haigh is a great place for recreational local diving and is the preferred place for dive training in the Chicago-land area. You can also join us on one of our exciting trips, or you can finish with a referral through any PADI dive center in the world.
